On the auspicious occasion of the Mother's 141st Birthday, on February 21, 2019, a collective meditation was held at our Noida branch in Uttar Pradesh.

On February 16, SAS Noida branch held its annual get-together.  The programme began with a prayer by the children of Bal Vihar School and glowing tributes were paid to the Pulwama martyrs in the form of a patriotic song sung by Shri Deepak Shrivastava.

Meanwhile, screenings of the following videos of talks by Dr. Alok Pandey continued throughout the month of February:

  • “Practical Guidance – How to Begin the Path” on February 3, 2019
  • “The Life and Works of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother Part-1” on February 10, 2019
  • “The Lives and Works of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother Part-2” on February 17, 2019
  • “Inspirations from the Mother and Sri Aurobindo’s Life” on February 24, 2019

Savitri reading sessions were also conducted every Sunday through the month.

Othivakkam in Chengalpattu Tehsil (Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu)

On February 10, 2019, Sri Aurobindo Society’s Relics Branch in Othivakkam in Chengalpattu Tehsil (Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu) celebrated Shri Annai’s (the Mother’s) 141st birth anniversary.

Some of the programmes conducted during the day were Savitri reading by children’s corner students; dancing to the Mother songs; a talk on the adoration of the Divine by Women’s Council Secretary, Mrs. Meena Rajendran.

The welcome note was given by Chairman, Mr. Jothi, and another talk was delivered by Secretary, A. Elumalai.

Lunch was provided to 300 attending devotees and the day ended with prayers and meditation.

Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh

On February 14, 2019, a Senior Citizen unit of Gwalior arranged a collective marriage ceremony at Narayan Vridhashrama, Lakshamiganj. Several renowned senior citizens were honoured on the occasion in recognition of their remarkable contribution to the society.

Smt Ranjana Prasad, Chairperson of Sri Aurobindo Society, Gwalior, was also honoured for her outstanding work for the city-level cultural development and was presented with a shawl. She attended the event along with Dr Gauri Trivedi and Smt Pushpa Sharma.

Meanwhile on the occasion of the Mother’s Birthday, on February 21 2019, a Women Symposium was organized at “Aadhar Bhawan” in Nehru Colony.

Smt Daya Gupta, an active member of Sri Sharda Sangh, was the chief guest. Shekher Saxena, Secretary of the branch, delivered a speech in which he highlighted the thoughts and teachings of the Mother in detail.

A few other speakers also expressed their view on the Mother’s work and her life associated with Sri Aurobindo. Dr S C Sharma explained how to achieve mental peace and love in the light of the thoughts and teachings of the Mother in our life through a PPT. Smt Daya Gupta expressed her views on how to become an ideal women and keep our culture alive in this modern society in the light of the Mother and Sri Aurobindo.

About 45 people attended the programme including the 20 women who participated in the symposium. At the end of the programme, thali prasad was distributed to all the participants, members and well-wishers.
