One-Day AuroYouth Camp in Rudrapur

A one-day AuroYouth Camp on was organized by Sri Aurobindo Society, Rudrapur branch, Uttrakhand, on November 11, 2017. The camp, facilitated by Shri Amit Kumar, was attended by around 35 participants.

The camp started with the opening address by Secretary of the Society, Shri Lalit Bisht, who welcomed all the participants (mostly young primary school teachers). He emphasized the usefulness of this camp and pointed out how one could get immense benefits out of it. 

Shri Amit Kumar (AuroYouth Facilitator from Gurugram) then gave details on maintaining discipline; the kind of attitude one should have towards the camp; paying total attention to the subjects discussed and making all the sessions very interactive. He also elaborated on the following key topics – the Aim of life; Inner and Outer Streams of Life; necessity of having Aims for Inner Streams and how our Inner Stream of Life plays a major role in our Outer Personality. 

In the second session, Shri Kumar described six simple values to be lived by and the methods to implement values such as Courage, Generosity, Gratitude, Sincerity, Perseverance and Progress in our life. He pointed out that by adopting these values life can become peaceful, calm, filled with love, more focused and more disciplined. He also discussed the Values for Success – basing on the Inner Aims of Life, explaining the same with PPT presentations and narratives. 

This session was followed by a 15-minute Guided Meditation. Almost 80% of the participants shared that they had never engaged in this method of meditation. Almost all the participants reported of having achieved a sense of peace, light and calmness at the end of the meditation. 

In the third session, a few activities on hearing senses and additional participatory group activities were conducted by Shri Amit Kumar.

Later, Ravi Khandelwal (Vice-chairman, Rudrapur branch) explained the teachings of the Mother, Sri Aurobindo and the Sri Aurobindo Society, with their vision, objective and working areas in a manner which was easily grasped by all the participants.

In the final session, Shri Amit Kumar advised all the participants to devote at least 30 to 50 minutes every day for their own well-being by doing meditation, pranayam and simple physical exercises. This was followed by the distribution of Participatory Certificate to all the participants. As per the participants’ feedback, they very much appreciated the sessions on Aim of Life, Values of Success, the Opening Session, Introduction to SAS and the Guided Meditation.
