Dr Samapadananda’s Visit to Coimbatore, Amritapuri (Kerala), & Jaipur

On 23 August, Dr Samapadananda Mishra, Director, Sri Aurobindo Foundation for Indian Culture (SAFIC), a unit of Sri Aurobindo Society, was invited to give a talk on ‘Sanskrit—A Language of Integral Perfection’ at the Arya Vaidya Chikitsalayam and Research Institute, Coimbatore. This talk was organized as part of the workshop on comprehensive and integrative management of type 2 Diabetes. The talk was attended by the participants of the workshop who were mostly Ayurveda physicians.

On the same day, Dr Mishra also elucidated the importance of Sanskrit to the students of Bharatiya Vidyabhavan School in Coimbatore. Nearly 200 students and a few staff members of the school attended the talk.

On 24 and 25 August, a two-day workshop titled ‘Magic and Logic of Sanskrit’ was conducted by Dr Mishra at the Coimbatore branch of Sri Aurobindo Society. Sixteen participants attended the workshop in which there were sessions on importance of Sanskrit, on Sanskrit meters and alphabet, on Sanskrit for children and on Mantra Yoga.

On 30 August, Dr Mishra was invited by the Amrita Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, Amritapuri, Kerala, to conduct a one-day workshop on the ‘Power of Sanskrit’. In this workshop Dr Mishra conducted four different sessions: The first explaining the ‘Power of Sanskrit’, second on Sanskrit alphabet, third titled ‘Sanskrit Is Fun’ and the final session was a question and answer session. In the last session, Dr Mishra replied to twenty-five different questions asked by the participants. The workshop was attended by nearly 200 students pursuing their Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) at the Amritha Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya.

Dr Mishra was invited to the Jaipur centre of Sri Aurobindo Society on 28 and 29 September to deliver four lectures, titled ‘Healing through Mantra Yoga’, ‘Vedas in Daily Life’ (two sessions) and the ‘Power of Self-giving in the Light of the Gita’. On 30 September, Dr Mishra was invited as a guest of honour in the valedictory function of a miniature painting workshop organized by the Rajasthan Sanskrit Academy, Jaipur. At the function, Dr Mishra, in his speech, highlighted the importance of aesthetics in our life and said that all forms of arts become immortal when there is the touch of spirituality. In the afternoon on the same day (30 September), Dr Mishra explained to the students of Maharaja Rajakiya Acharya Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, Jaipur, about the importance and beauty of Sanskrit.
