The Asansol Branch of Sri Aurobindo Society (SAS), organized a One Day Youth Camp for ‘Inner Awareness and Personal Growth’ on May 29, 2016, at the branch premises which was attended by several boys and girls in the age group of 18 to 25.
The programme commenced with hoisting of the Mother’s Flag by Shri Binoy Kumar Bajari, Chairman, Sri Aurobindo Society West Bengal State Committee (SASWBSC), which was followed by registration of the participants. Then Shri Bhaskar Basu, Secretary of the branch, delivered the welcome address followed by an introductory speech by Shri Sanjoy Roy and Sourav Chattoraj about the camp.
Smt. Jayantika Basu, Secretary, SASWBSC, conducted breathing exercises which were repeated by the participants. Following this, Shri Bajari gave a talk on the life and work of Sri Aurobindo, the Mother and Sri Aurobindo Society; Sourav Chattoraj, AuroYouth Coordinator, SAS Asansol Branch, gave a talk on the topic “Aim in Life” while Smt. Jayantika Basu elaborated on the subject “Inner Awareness”.
The post-lunch session was conducted by Shri Sourav Chattoraj, wherein participants were divided into four groups namely, Aspiration, Bliss, Courage and Devotion. Each group was given a topic which included “Divine Love”, “How to control Anger”, “True Friendship” and so on.
The day-long event concluded with an interactive and feedback session followed by a Vote of Thanks by Smt. Sharmistha Basu. The entire workshop was supported by AudioVisuals and PowerPoint presentations. The programme turned out to be a massive success due to the blessings of the Mother and constant efforts of Shri Goutam Banerjee and Shri Chandi Charan Chattoraj who were instrumental in arranging the programme; and mainly because of the energy and interest of all the enthusiastic participants.
