Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh

On the eve of Independence Day—August 14, 2016—a play on the life of Sri Aurobindo titled 'Sri Aurobindo Ka Jeewan' was performed at Ram Naresh Tripathi Sabhagar in Sultanpur. Shri Sanjay Srivastava, a renowned performing artist of the city, scripted and directed the play.

Dr. J. P. Singh welcomed the august gathering of about 350 people from the city and neighbouring areas. He thanked the audience for their presence despite inclement weather conditions.

Mr. Subash, Vibhag Pracharak of RSS, Sultanpur, was the chief guest.

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh

On the occasion of Sri Aurobindo's birthday and India's Independence Day, the following activities were organized by Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar center:

Flag hoisting ceremony in coordination with the Resident Welfare Association of Gomti Nagar. The flag hoisting was followed by talks on the life of Sri Aurobindo. Mr. R.K. Singh was the chief guest and the  occasion was presided over by Mr. S. K. Srivastava, Chairman of the RWA.

A unity march of about 500 metres culminating at Sri Aurobindo Chauraha in Gomti Nagar. Participants invoked the Divine Mother by reciting Vande Mataram. Sweets were distributed as prasad at the end of march.
