It is that time of the year when a few wide-eyed souls are introduced to conscious living and experience a life which has a distinct flavour of spirituality that has evolved under the guidance of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. It is the time of the All India Youth Camp at the Sri Aurobindo Society when conventions are broken, new and unexplored territories are discovered and new paths are hewn, leading to new discoveries of oneself and the world, and to a new future that is being prepared.
The annual ALL INDIA YOUTH CAMP, this year themed SILVER WINGS, was organized at Puducherry from 4 to 12 January 2015, under the sponsorship of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), New Delhi. A total of 25 participants from 9 states of India, including Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Assam, participated with youthful verve and enthusiasm.
The camp was filled with engaging interactions with the youth of India who were a mixture of innocence and inquisitiveness, responding at once to care and concern, timid at first but with gradual prodding, they did get a glimpse of the hidden treasures within themselves! With Shri Kaivalyabhai as the Camp Director, Shivakumar and an energetic team of resource persons organised the entire camp.
On the very first day, a participant remarked:
"The day was a truly blessed beginning of a beautiful journey of discovering our very own 'silver wings' carrying us to the depths of self-discovery. We were encouraged to identify significant questions, find answers to them and ask infinite more!"
~ Kamya Chowdhary
On the last day, another participant remarked:
“The camp was a wonderful way to be introduced to new aspects of our life we were ignorant towards previously. The methods used, the examples, the activities, they all were in perfect harmony not only at the presentation level, but also in making it easy for everyone to understand it.
The camp had a very homely environment; I almost forgot home, it felt like I became part of this new family… Thank you!”
~ Jay J. Aswani
Here are some feedbacks from the participants:
In this camp I learnt that everything is possible, and nothing is impossible, if we have concentration and focus.
~ Raghavendra Rao
This camp is really beyond my expectation. All the teachers, actually are not like teachers but like friends, phiolosophers and good communicators.
~ Bikash Hazarika
Everyone is like different flowers with vibrant colours and fragrance in the same vase. …It has been a wonderful pleasure being here. A memory that would never fade, ever!
~ M. D. Mahmudoor Rahman
Looking back, I am certain a much deeper force beckoned me here, and I’m so glad that it did and my heart responded…. I’m so glad to have witnessed every student, like me, open, blossom, expand & reach out. I’m leaving Pondicherry with happiness, friends, learnings and crystal clear vision of the future.

I feel so enlightened after being in this camp that I have a completely new outlook on life and hence I proudly say ‘I am a changed man now!’
Vision of SAS is just so wonderful, and the way each person is dedicated to the work of it, that it really inspires us to be a part of it and help humanity as a whole in all possible means. This camp has been a lovely experience in all aspects…
