Sri Aurobindo Foundation for Integral Management (SAFIM), a unit of Sri Aurobindo Society, conducted a 6-day Management Development Programme (MDP) workshop for the world's largest asset management firm’s branch in Tunisia from February 10 to 15, 2014. There were 15 participants from the middle management category, with experience ranging from 6 to 10 years.
SAFIM strives to bring together the best of Western management skills and technology and the Eastern deeper values of spiritual insights and fuse them into a new synthesis relevant to the needs of the modern business world, executing Leadership and Management Development Programmes based on its theme of ‘Management by Consciousness’. The focus of these workshops was to creating a harmonious and integrally progressive corporate environment for which activities were conducted and insights and practical proposals were provided on team building and integration of people, shaping values in business, and making the right decision at the right time with effective stress management techniques.
The participants have attended several training programmes earlier and were looking for practical tips on how to implement the learning. The participants appreciated the reference and linkages to Indian philosophical/mythological thoughts during the learning process. There was an appreciation about the practicality of application in their day-to-day professional life.
All in all, it was an extremely successful and well-received programme, and SAFIM’s first footstep abroad which left its mark. Some of the feedback included comments such as ‘I feel different I feel Stronger’ and ‘thank you so much for all your work and wisdom’.
