Sri Aurobindo Foundation for Integral Management (SAFIM), a unit of Sri Aurobindo Society, conducted a 4-day workshop, titled ‘Igniting Innovation’ at Guwahati Management Association, Guwahati, for the executives of Oil India, Indian Oil, HDFC, etc. from February 12 to15, 2014. The programme was organized by Guwahati Management Association in association with Public Enterprise Department of Government of Assam and the All India Management Association (AIMA). Professor Saikat Sen facilitated the sessions for 54 participants working at various executive levels in two batches (February 12–13 and 14–15).
‘Igniting Innovation’, a SAFIM offering to corporate leaders and executives, is a course which leads individuals towards the innovation consciousness, which means to drive innovation from within. It enables individuals to establish innovation as a practice in the work environment as well as in one’s daily life.
The concept of developing the right inner atmosphere for innovative thinking and the process of developing the intuitive and creative faculties of the mind were explained to the participants through a number of experiential activities such as role plays, games, interactive sessions and debate, movie clips and music. The participation of the audience in each session was active and spontaneous.
“‘Unlearn the learnt’ is what I would like to take back with myself, from the programme”, was the feedback from Shri Madhur Jain, HDFC Ltd. Similar feedback received from most of the participants of the programme showed the effectiveness of the workshop.
